Monday, October 29, 2018 through Thursday November 1, 2018: Dayshift

Continue bridge construction activities along SR 1. Motorists should anticipate a single left or right lane closure along northbound and southbound SR 1 between the Biddles Toll Plaza and the Roth Bridge from 7 AM until 3 PM.

Continue roadway widening activities along southbound US 13. Motorists should anticipate a single right lane closure along southbound US 13 between the Free Ramp to SR 1 and Port Penn Road from 7 AM until 2 PM.

Intermittent daytime single lane closures on US 301 between Boyds Corner Road and Spring Mill Drive for hot-mix paving.

Continue bridge construction activities on SR 896/Boyds Corner Road. Motorists should anticipate an eastbound or westbound lane closure on Boyds Corner Road, west of Cedar Lane with traffic alternating through the work zone utilizing a flagging operation by construction personnel from 8 AM until 4 PM.

Motorists should expect single lane closures on Bunker Hill Road between the bridge over future US 301 and the roundabout at Chop Tank Road with traffic alternating through the work zone utilizing a flagging operation by construction personnel from 8 AM until 4 PM.

Motorists should expect single lane closures on Armstrong Corner Road adjacent to Summit Bridge Road with traffic alternating through the work zone utilizing a flagging operation by construction personnel from 8 AM until 4 PM. 

Wednesday, October 31, 2018: Dayshift

Motorists should anticipate a single left lane closure on southbound SR 1 from 7 AM until 3 PM to relocate equipment from the SR 1 median. 

Friday, November 2, 2018: Dayshift

Continue roadway widening activities along southbound US 13. Motorists should anticipate a single right lane closure along southbound US 13 between the Free Ramp to SR 1 and Port Penn Road from 7 until Noon.

Detours and Roadway Closures

US 301 NB at the Maryland state line will be realigned on Wednesday, October 31, 2018. Traffic entering Delaware from Maryland on US 301 NB will continue on the newly paved NB side of US 301 in Delaware from the state line up to the existing cross over, where traffic will be merged back on to existing Middletown Warwick Road. This traffic configuration will remain in place until the opening of the new US 301 alignment in late 2018.

The Stadium/Bus lot and secondary driveway at St. Georges High School is closed to all traffic until further notice except during morning drop off and school dismissal times Monday through Friday. All other vehicles entering/exiting at any other time should use the main entrance to the high school.

Hyetts Corner Road is closed to traffic between the St. Georges High School and Windsor Commons Way. Motorists traveling westbound on Hyetts Corner Road should follow Jamison Corner Road through the roundabout and continue to Boyd’s Corner Road (SR 896) and turn left, follow Boyd’s Corner Road to US 13 and turn left, and back to Hyetts Corner Road. Motorists traveling eastbound on Hyetts Corner Road should turn right at US 13, follow US 13 to Boyds Corner Road and turn right, follow Boyds Corner Road to Jamison Corner Road and turn right, follow Jamison Corner Road through the roundabout and back to Hyetts Corner Road.

SR 141/I-95 Interchange Project Will Require Nighttime Lane and Ramp Closure for Milling and Paving
WHEN: 8 PM until 5 AM on Sunday, October 21, 2018 through Thursday, October 25, 2018
In the event of inclement weather, the lane and ramp closures will occur at 9 PM on Friday, October 26, 2018 until 8 AM on Saturday, October 27, 2018
WHERE: I-295 Northbound to I-95 Northbound between Exit 5 and past SR 141 Northbound Interchange AND Closure of Exit 2/SR 141 Southbound to I-295 Northbound.
WHAT: DelDOT’s announces to motorists that there will be lanes closed with a shifting of traffic on I-295 northbound to I-95 northbound and the closure of the ramp for milling and paving.
Detour: Motorists traveling on SR 141 southbound will follow detour signs to westbound Commons Boulevard, right onto Churchmans Road, enter onto SR 1 southbound and merge to I-95 northbound.
Detour signage will be posted for motorists.

Bridge widening construction activities along SR 1 southbound. Motorists should anticipate a single right lane closure from 7 AM until 3 PM between the Roth Bridge and the Biddles Toll Plaza.

Continue roadway widening activities along southbound US 13. Motorists should anticipate a single right lane closure along southbound US 13 between the Free Ramp to SR 1 and Port Penn Road from 7 AM until 2 PM.

Monday, October 15, 2018: Nightshift

Work will be performed overnight to reduce SR 1 Northbound to two lanes between Biddles Toll Plaza and the Roth Bridge. Motorists using the cash toll lanes will merge into one lane coming out of the toll plaza before merging left into the two existing northbound lanes. Once closed, these lanes will remain closed until the opening of the new US 301 alignment at the end of 2018.

Wednesday, October 17, 2018 and Thursday, October 18, 2018: Dayshift 

Work will be performed Wednesday and Thursday on US 13 between Port Penn Road and Hyetts Corner Road. A left lane closure will be scheduled on the northbound lanes between 9 AM until  4PM and also on the southbound lanes between 7 AM until 3 PM to relocate signage in the median.

Friday, October 19, 2018 – Dayshift

Continue roadway widening activities along southbound US 13. Motorists should anticipate a single right lane closure along southbound US 13 between the Free Ramp to SR 1 and Port Penn Road from 7 AM until Noon.

SR141/I-95 Ramp Interchange Project

SR141/I-95 Ramp Improvement Project
October 1, 2018

The contractor, Mumford & Miller Inc., continue to pave SR141 northbound and southbound. They are building fences for the new SR141 northbound and southbound bridges. They continue to construct the Exit 5 ramp from I295 northbound to SR141 northbound. They are working on installing utility infrastructure and large sign structures through the SR141 and I95 northbound corridor. The contractor is also working to construct the shoulder and barrier on I95 northbound.

LANE CLOSURES:

Motorists should expect traffic on SR141 southbound and northbound to be reduced to one lane in the construction area during the hours of 9a.m. to 3p.m., Monday thru Friday.

Ramp Exit 5B (NB I-295 to NB SR141/Newport) remains closed until October 15, 2018. Motorists traveling to northbound SR141/Newport should use Exit 5.

There will continue to be lane closures and shifts of traffic on I-95 and I-295 during the hours of 9a.m. to 3p.m., Monday thru Friday.
