Continue roadway widening activities along US 13 southbound. Motorists should anticipate a single right lane closure along US 13 southbound between the Free Ramp to SR 1 and Port Penn Road from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Continue bridge construction activities along SR 1. Motorists should anticipate a single left or right lane closure along northbound and southbound SR 1 between the Biddles Toll Plaza and the Roth Bridge from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Continue bridge construction activities across Summit Bridge Road. Motorists should anticipate a flagging operation by construction personnel on Summit Bridge Road North of Marl Pit/Armstrong Corner Road from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Tuesday, January 2 through Thursday, January 4:  Nightshift

Continue bridge construction activities along SR 1. Motorists should anticipate a single lane closure along northbound and southbound SR 1 between the Biddles Toll Plaza and the Roth Bridge from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. including periodic rolling road blocks from 10 p.m. until 4 a.m.

Detours and Roadway Closures

Port Penn Road at US 13 is restricted to a right turn into and right turn out of Port Penn Road. Traffic accessing southbound US 13 from Port Penn Road will follow Port Penn Road to Pole Bridge Road and back to US 13. Traffic accessing Port Penn Road from southbound US 13 will follow US 13 to Pole Bridge Road and back to Port Penn Road. Traffic accessing the Biddles Toll Plaza from northbound US 13 will follow US Route 13 to the traffic signal at the free ramp to northbound State Route 1 and make a U-Turn back to the Biddles Toll Plaza. This closure will remain in effect until June 2018 after the intersection is reconstructed and the new traffic signal becomes operational.

Hyetts Corner Road is closed to traffic between the St. Georges High School and Windsor Commons Way until December 2018. Motorists traveling westbound on Hyetts Corner Road should follow Jamison Corner Road through the roundabout and continue to Boyd’s Corner Road (SR 896) and turn left, follow Boyd’s Corner Road (SR 896) to US Route 13 and turn left, and back to Hyetts Corner Road. Motorists traveling eastbound on Hyett’s Corner Road should turn right at US 13, follow US 13 to Boyd’s Corner Road (SR 896) and turn right, follow Boyd’s Corner Road to Jamison Corner Road and turn right, follow Jamison Corner Road through the roundabout and back to Hyetts Corner Road.

Strawberry Lane is closed to traffic at US 301. Motorists wanting to access the east side of Strawberry Lane from US 301 will follow Levels Road (SR 15) to Strawberry Lane. Motorists wanting to access the west side of Strawberry Lane from US Route 301 will turn left onto the new Levels Road/Warwick Road (SR 299) and follow Warwick Road (SR 299) to Strawberry Lane.

Detours and Roadway Closures

Port Penn Road at US 13 is restricted to a right turn into and right turn out of Port Penn Road. Traffic accessing southbound US 13 from Port Penn Road will follow Port Penn Road to Pole Bridge Road and back to US 13. Traffic accessing Port Penn Road from southbound US Route 13 will follow US 13 to Pole Bridge Road and back to Port Penn Road. Traffic accessing the Biddles Toll Plaza from northbound US 13 will follow US 13 to the traffic signal at the free ramp to northbound State Route 1 and make a U-Turn back to the Biddles Toll Plaza. This closure will remain in effect until June 2018 after the intersection is reconstructed and the new traffic signal becomes operational.

SR141/I-95 Ramp Interchange Project

SR141/I-95 Ramp Interchange Project
December 18, 2017

The contractor, Mumford & Miller Inc., continues to widen the roadway on SR141 southbound and northbound on the closed side of the roadway. They are constructing foundations and building piers and abutments for the new SR 141 northbound bridge. The contractor has begun constructing the concrete deck on SR 141 southbound. They are constructing the Exit 5 ramp from I295 northbound to SR141 northbound. They are working on installing utility infrastructure through the SR141 and I95 northbound corridor.

LANE CLOSURES:

Motorists should expect traffic on SR141 southbound and northbound to be reduced to one lane in the construction area during the hours of 9a.m. to 3p.m., Monday thru Friday.

Ramp Exit 5B (NB I-295 to NB SR141/Newport) remains closed until December 2017. Motorists traveling to northbound SR141/Newport should use Exit 5.

Mumford and Miller Inc., will be shifting the I-295 northbound traffic to I-95 northbound on Tuesday, December 19, 2017, from 2a.m. to 5a.m.

SR141/I-95 Ramp Interchange Project

The contractor, Mumford & Miller Inc., continues to widen the roadway on SR141 southbound and northbound on the closed side of the roadway. LANE CLOSURES:

Motorists should expect traffic on SR141 southbound and northbound to be reduced to one lane in the construction area during the hours of 9a.m. to 3p.m., Monday thru Friday.

Ramp Exit 5B (NB I-295 to NB SR141/Newport) remains closed until December 2017. Motorists traveling to northbound SR141/Newport should use Exit 5.

TRAFFIC ALERT:
UPDATED: SR 141/I-95 Ramp Interchange Project will Require Nighttime Lane Shifts on I-95 NB and I-295 NB

Newport (New Castle County) — The Delaware Department of Transportation’s (DelDOT) contractor, Mumford and Miller Inc., will be shifting the I-295 northbound traffic to I-95 northbound beginning on Monday, December 11, 2017, at 8 p.m.

The lane shift will be in place at the following times:
• 8 p.m. Monday, December 11 until 5 a.m. on Tuesday, December 12
• Rain Date on Tuesday, December 12 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. on Wednesday, December 13.
In addition, Exit 2/SR 141 southbound to I-295 northbound will be closed during these times.

Detour Routes:

I-295 northbound motorists will use the right lane signed for I-95 northbound and stay in the right lane of I-95 and then use the temporary crossover just past the work zone on the right to enter I-295 northbound.

SR 141 motorists traveling southbound to I-295 northbound will follow detour signs to Commons Boulevard to Churchmans Road to I-95 northbound to I-295 northbound.

Beginning on Wednesday, December 13, I-95 northbound will be closing and shifting lanes to I-295 northbound during the following times:
• 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 13 until 5 a.m. on Thursday, December 14
• Rain Date on Thursday, December 14 at 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. on Friday, December 15.
Detour Routes:

I-95 northbound motorists will use the right lanes signed for I-295 northbound and stay in the left lane of I-295 and then use the temporary crossover just past the work zone to re-enter I-95 northbound.

The nighttime lane and ramp closures are necessary as work continues on the SR141 bridges over I-95.

SR 1 Northbound will be closed from 9 p.m. on Monday, November 27 until 5 a.m. on Tuesday, November 28. Traffic should follow the posted detour of Pole Bridge Road (Exit 142) to US Route 13 northbound and return to SR 1 northbound.

Monday, November 27 through Thursday, November 30: Nightshift 

Continue bridge construction activities along SR 1. Motorists should anticipate double left lane closures along northbound and southbound SR 1 between the Toll Plaza and Roth Bridge from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. 

Friday, December 1 and Saturday, December 2: Nightshift 

SR 1 Northbound will be closed from 8 p.m. on Friday, December 1 until 7 a.m. on Saturday, December 2. Traffic should follow the posted detour of Pole Bridge Road (Exit 142) to US Route 13 northbound and return to SR 1 northbound.

Continue bridge construction activities along SR 1. Motorists should anticipate a single left or right lane closure along northbound and southbound SR 1 between the Biddles Toll Plaza and the Roth Bridge from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Detours and Roadway Closures

Port Penn Road at US 13 is restricted to a right turn into and right turn out of Port Penn Road. Traffic accessing southbound US13 from Port Penn Road will follow Port Penn Road to Pole Bridge Road and back to US 13. Traffic accessing Port Penn Road from southbound US 13 will follow US 13 to Pole Bridge Road and back to Port Penn Road. Traffic accessing the Biddles Toll Plaza from northbound US 13 will follow US 13 to the traffic signal at the free ramp to northbound SR 1 and make a U-Turn back to the Biddles Toll Plaza. This closure will remain in effect until June 2018 after the intersection is reconstructed and the new traffic signal becomes operational.

Hyetts Corner Road is closed to traffic between the St. Georges High School and Windsor Commons Way until December 2018. Motorists traveling westbound on Hyetts Corner Road should follow Jamison Corner Road through the roundabout and continue to Boyds Corner Road (SR 896) and turn left, follow Boyds Corner Road (SR 896) to US 13 and turn left, and back to Hyetts Corner Road. SR141/I-95 Ramp Interchange Project

SR141/I95 Ramp Improvement Project

The contractor, Mumford & Miller Inc., continues to widen the roadway on SR141 southbound and northbound on the closed side of the roadway. They are demolishing the existing SR141 southbound and northbound bridges, constructing foundations and building piers for the new bridges. They have also begun construction of the Exit 5 ramp from I295 northbound to SR141 northbound. They are working on installing utility infrastructure through the SR141 and I95 northbound corridor.

LANE CLOSURES:

Motorists should expect traffic on SR141 southbound and northbound to be reduced to one lane in the construction area during the hours of 9a.m. to 3p.m., Monday thru Friday.

Ramp Exit 5B (NB I-295 to NB SR141/Newport) remains closed until December 2017. Motorists traveling to northbound SR141/Newport should use Exit 5.

TRAFFIC ALERT:

Bridge Pier Demolition Will Require Nighttime Lane and Ramp Closures on I-95 NB and I-295 NB

Newport (New Castle County) As part of the on-going SR 141/I-95 Ramp Interchange Project, the Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) announces to motorists that on Monday, November 6 through Wednesday November 8 (Hours 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. each night) will be closing/shifting lanes on I-295 northbound to I-95 northbound between Exit 5 and past Route 141 northbound interchange. In addition, Exit 2/SR 141 southbound to I-295 northbound will be closed those nights.
On Wednesday, November 8 evening (Hours 8 p.m. until 5 a.m.) through the morning of Friday, November 10, I-95 northbound will be closing/shifting lanes to I-295 northbound AND the ramps to SR 141 northbound and southbound to I-95 northbound. The nighttime lane and ramps closures are necessary for bridge pier demolition.

Exit 2/SR 141 southbound ramp to I-295 northbound will be closed. Motorists traveling on SR 141 southbound will follow detour signs to Commons Boulevard to Churchmans Road to I-95 northbound to I-295 northbound.
I-295 northbound motorists will use the right lane signed for I-95 northbound and stay on the right lane of I-95 and then use the temporary crossover just past the work zone to go back onto I-295 northbound.
Wednesday, November 8 and Thursday, November 9
Exit 3A/SR 141 southbound to I-95 northbound will be closed. Motorists traveling on SR 141 southbound will follow detour signs to Commons Boulevard to Churchmans Road to I-95 northbound.
Exit 3A/SR 141 northbound to I-95 northbound will be closed. Motorists traveling east on Commons Boulevard will follow detour signs to U-Turn onto Commons Boulevard heading west to Churchmans Road to I-95 northbound to I-295 northbound.
Motorists traveling on SR 141 northbound will follow detour signs to Commons Boulevard to Churchmans Road to I-95 northbound.
On I-95 northbound, motorists will use the right lanes signed for I-295 northbound and stay on the left lane of I-295 northbound and then use the temporary crossover, just past the work zone to go back onto I-95 northbound.
