SR141/I-95 Ramp Interchange Project

SR141/I-95 Ramp Interchange Project

The contractor, Mumford and Miller Inc., will start to install sheeting piles to widen the I-95 acceleration lane from SR141. They will continue to form and pour a new deck for SR141 southbound and installing storm drains on SR141 northbound. They will continue constructing the concrete structures for the new bridges and placing fill for the widening of SR141 southbound and northbound to I-95.

LANE CLOSURES:

Motorists should expect traffic on SR141 southbound and northbound to be reduced to one lane in the construction area during the hours of 9AM to 3PM, Monday thru Friday.

Ramp Exit 5B (NB I-295 to NB SR141/Newport) remains closed until late June 2017. Northbound SR141/Newport should use Exit 5.

Continue bridge construction activities along State Route 1. Motorists should anticipate single lane closures along northbound or southbound State Route 1 between the Roth Bridge and Toll Plaza from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Begin installing roadway light pole bases. Motorists should anticipate northbound and southbound shoulder closures along U.S. Route 13 between Old Hyetts Corner Road and Port Penn Road from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Begin installing drainage pipe across U.S. Route 13. Motorists should anticipate left lane or right lane closures along U.S. Route 13 near Old Hyetts Corner Road from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Continue dirt hauling and bridge construction activities on Boyd’s Corner Road. Motorists should anticipate a flagging operation by construction personnel on Boyds Corner Road west of Jamison Corner Road from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Continue dirt hauling and other construction activities on Hyetts Corner Road. Motorists should anticipate lane closures on Hyetts Corner Road between Airmont Drive and Windsor Commons Way with traffic alternating through the work zone utilizing a flagging operation by construction personnel from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Continue dirt hauling and other construction activities across Armstrong Corner Road. Motorists should anticipate a flagging operation by construction personnel on Armstrong Corner Road west of Summit Bridge Road from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Continue dirt hauling and bridge construction activities across Bunker Hill Road. Motorists should anticipate a flagging operation by construction personnel on Bunker Hill Road near Appoquinimink High School from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Middle Neck Roads is closed at U.S. Route 301. Motorists wishing to access Middle Neck Road from U.S. Route 301 should follow the posted detour of Bunker Hill Road to Old Telegraph Road and back to Middle Neck Road.

Strawberry Lane is closed to traffic at U.S. Route 301. Motorists wanting to access the east side of Strawberry Lane from U.S. Route 301 will follow Levels Road (State Route 15) to Strawberry Lane. Motorists wanting to access the west side of Strawberry Lane from U.S. Route 301 will follow Warwick Road (State Route 299) to Wilson Street/Strawberry Lane.

Lane Closures:

The ramp from SR141 southbound to I-295 northbound will be closed on Monday, January 16th, and Thursday, January 17th, from 7PM to 5AM. See Traffic Alert below.

There will be multiple land closures on I-295 during the week from 7PM to 5AM starting Monday evening.

Motorists should expect traffic on SR141 southbound and northbound to be reduced to one lane in the construction area during the hours of 9AM to 3PM, Monday thru Friday.

The contractor, Mumford & Miller Inc., continues constructing the concrete structures for the new bridges on SR141. The contractor will continue to place fill for the widening of SR141 southbound and northbound to I-95. This week, beam installation will begin on SR141 southbound and the placement of storm drains on SR141 northbound.

LANE CLOSURES:

There will be the nightime closure of Exit 2, SR141 SB to I-295 NB, on Tuesday and Wednesday evening from 7PM to 5AM along with multiple lane closures on I-95 and I-295. (See Traffic Alert below.)

Motorists should expect traffic on SR141 northbound and southbound to be reduced to one lane in the construction area during the hours of 9AM to 3PM, Monday thru Friday.

TRAFFIC ALERT:

Nighttime Closure of Exit 2/SR 141 SB to I-295 NB for Placement of Bridge Beams

WHEN: 7 p.m. until 5 a.m., each night
Tuesday, December 20 evening and end at 5 a.m. on Thursday, December 22
WHERE: Exit 2/SR 141 southbound to I-295 northbound

WHAT: The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) announces that their contractor, Mumford & Miller Concrete Inc. will be placing beams on the bridge over I-95 and I-295. Due to lane closures on I-95 and I-295 during the placing of the beams, motorists heading northbound will experience delays.

Motorists traveling on SR 141 southbound will follow detour signs to U.S. Route 13 north to I-295 to I-95 northbound.
Detour signage will be posted for motorists.
