Below is an outline of the anticipated construction schedule for the US 301 Mainline Project during the week of October 1, 2018.

Monday, October 1, 2018 through Thursday October 4, 2018: Dayshift

Continue bridge construction activities along SR 1. Motorists should anticipate a single left or right lane closure along northbound and southbound SR 1 between the Biddles Toll Plaza and the Roth Bridge from 7 AM until 3 PM.

Bridge widening construction activities along SR 1 southbound. Motorists should anticipate a single right lane closure from 7 AM until 3 PM between the Roth Bridge and the Biddles Toll Plaza.

Continue roadway widening activities along US 13 southbound. Motorists should anticipate a single right lane closure along southbound US Route 13 between the Free Ramp to SR 1 and Port Penn Road from 7 AM until 2PM.

Intermittent daytime single lane closures on US 301 between Boyds Corner Rd and Spring Mill Drive for curb and gutter placement and backfill.

Continue bridge construction activities on Boyd’s Corner Road (SR 896). Motorists should anticipate an eastbound or westbound lane closure on Boyd’s Corner Road (SR 896) west of Cedar Lane with traffic alternating through the work zone utilizing a flagging operation by construction personnel from 8 AM until 4 PM.

Motorists should expect single lane closures on Bunker Hill Road between the bridge over future US 301 and the roundabout at Chop Tank Rd with traffic alternating through the work zone utilizing a flagging operation by construction personnel from 8 AM until 4 PM.

Monday, October 1, 2018 and Tuesday, October 2, 2018: Nightshift

Work will be performed overnight on Wednesday and Thursday to reduce SR 1 Northbound to two lanes between Biddles Toll Plaza and the Roth Bridge. Motorists using the cash toll lanes will merge into one lane coming out of the toll plaza before merging left into the two existing northbound lanes. Once closed, these lanes will remain closed until the opening of the new US 301 alignment at the end of 2018.

Friday, October 5, 2018: Dayshift

Continue roadway widening activities along southbound US 13. Motorists should anticipate a single right lane closure along southbound US 13 between the Free Ramp to SR 1 and Port Penn Road from 7 AM until Noon.

Detours and Roadway Closures

The Stadium/Bus lot and secondary driveway at St. Georges High School is closed to all traffic until further notice except during morning drop off and school dismissal times Monday through Friday. All other vehicles entering/exiting at any other time should use the main entrance to the High School.

Hyetts Corner Road is closed to traffic between the St. Georges High School and Windsor Commons Way until December 2018. Motorists traveling westbound on Hyetts Corner Road should follow Jamison Corner Road through the roundabout and continue to SR 896/Boyds Corner Road and turn left, follow SR 896/Boyds Corner Road to US 13 and turn left, and back to Hyetts Corner Road. Motorists traveling eastbound on Hyetts Corner Road should turn right at US 13, follow US 13 to SR 896/Boyds Corner Road and turn right, follow Boyds Corner Road to Jamison Corner Road and turn right, follow Jamison Corner Road through the roundabout and back to Hyetts Corner Road.

SR141/I-95 Ramp Interchange Project

SR141/I-95 Ramp Improvement Project
September 24, 2018

The contractor, Mumford & Miller Inc., continue to pave SR141 northbound and southbound. They are building fences and parapets for the new SR141 northbound and southbound bridges. They continue to construct the Exit 5 ramp from I295 northbound to SR141 northbound. They are working on installing utility infrastructure and large sign structures through the SR141 and I95 northbound corridor. The contractor is also working to construct the shoulder and barrier on I95 northbound.

LANE CLOSURES:

Motorists should expect traffic on SR141 southbound and northbound to be reduced to one lane in the construction area during the hours of 9a.m. to 3p.m., Monday thru Friday.

Ramp Exit 5B (NB I-295 to NB SR141/Newport) remains closed until September 30, 2018. Motorists traveling to northbound SR141/Newport should use Exit 5.

There will continue to be lane closures and shifts of traffic on I-95 and I-295 during the hours of 9a.m. to 3p.m., Monday thru Friday.

TRAFFIC ALERT:

SR 141/I-95 Interchange Project Will Require Nighttime Lane and Ramp Closure for Sign Installation
WHEN: 8 PM on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 until 5 AM on Thursday, September 27, 2018, pending weather.
In the event of inclement weather, the lane and ramp closures will occur on Thursday, September 27, 2018.
WHERE: I-295 Northbound to I-95 Northbound between Exit 5 and past SR 141 Northbound Interchange AND Closure of SR 141 Southbound Ramp to I-295 Northbound.
WHAT: DelDOT announces to motorists that there will be lanes closed with a shifting of traffic on I-295 northbound to I-95 northbound and the closure of the ramp for the installation of the sign structure.
Detour: Motorists traveling on SR 141 southbound will follow detour signs to westbound Commons Boulevard, right onto Churchmans Road, enter onto SR 1 southbound and merge to I-95 northbound.
Detour signage will be posted for motorists.

The intersection of Port Penn Road and US 13 is now open to left turns and the signal is in full stop and go operations.

Continue bridge construction activities on Boyds Corner Road (SR 896). Motorists should anticipate an eastbound or westbound lane closure on Boyds Corner Road (SR 896) west of Cedar Lane with traffic alternating through the work zone utilizing a flagging operation by construction personnel from 8 AM until 4 PM.

Additional work on Bunker Hill Road is expected to begin this week. Motorists should expect single lane closures on Bunker Hill Road between the bridge over future US 301 and the roundabout at Chop Tank Road with traffic alternating through the work zone utilizing a flagging operation by construction personnel from 8 AM until 4 PM.

Friday, September 21, 2018: Dayshift

Continue roadway widening activities along southbound US 13. Motorists should anticipate a single right lane closure along southbound US 13 between the Free Ramp to SR 1 and Port Penn Road from 7 AM Noon.

Detours and Roadway Closures 

The Levels Road closure scheduled for this weekend has been postponed due to the possibility of impending weather. This work will be rescheduled and a notice will be sent out once new dates are established.

The intersection of Port Penn Road and US 13 is now open to left turns and the signal is in full stop and go operations.

Detours and Roadway Closures

Levels Road Southeast of existing US 301 will be closed in the Southeast direction from 7:00 p.m. September 14, 2018 until 5:00 a.m. September 17, 2018 for sewer work. Warning signs and detour routes will be put in place in advance of this work.
