Below is an outline of the anticipated construction schedule and associated lane closures for the US 301 Mainline Project for the week of June 12.

Monday, June 12 through Thursday, June 15

Relocate temporary concrete barrier wall along US Route 13, south of the on ramp to State Route 1. Motorists should anticipate single left lane or right lane closures on northbound and southbound US 13 between Port Penn Road and the on ramp for State Route 1 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Continue bridge construction activities on Boyd’s Corner Road (SR 896). Motorists should anticipate an eastbound or westbound lane closure on Boyds Corner Road (SR 896) west of Cedar Lane with traffic alternating through the work zone utilizing a flagging operation by construction personnel from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Continue excavating and drainage work in the median along northbound and southbound US 13 between Old Hyetts Corner Road and Port Penn Road. Motorists should anticipate northbound and southbound single lane closures along US 13 between Old Hyetts Corner Road and Port Penn Road from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Monday, June 12 through Friday, June 16

Continue dirt hauling and bridge construction activities across Summit Bridge Road. Motorists should anticipate a flagging operation by construction personnel on Summit Bridge Road near North of Marl Pit/Armstrong Corner road from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Continue dirt hauling and bridge construction activities across Bunker Hill Road. Motorists should anticipate a flagging operation by construction personnel on Bunker Hill Road near Appoquinimink High School from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Bunker Hill Road will be closed between Choptank Road and Merrimac Avenue from 11:59PM Sunday on June 11 until 5 a.m. on Monday, June 26, for the construction of relocated Bunker Hill Road as part of the US 301 Mainline Project. Motorists traveling eastbound on Bunker Hill Road should follow Choptank Road to Armstrong Corner Road and turn right, follow Armstrong Corner Road to Summit Bridge Road (US 301) and turn right, follow Summit Bridge Road (US 301) turn right and back to Bunker Hill Road. Motorists traveling westbound on Bunker Hill Road should follow Summit Bridge Road (US 301) to Armstrong Corner Road and turn left, follow Armstrong Corner Road to Choptank Road and turn left, follow Choptank Road and turn back onto Bunker Hill Road.

Warwick Road (SR 299) will close at existing US 301 as part of the US 301 Mainline Project. Motorists traveling northbound on Warwick Road to Middletown should turn left onto Wilson Street, follow Wilson Street to Old Telegraph Road and stay straight, follow Old Telegraph Road to Middle Neck Road and turn right, and follow Middle Neck Road to the new Warwick Road and turn left and back to existing US 301.  Motorists traveling southbound on Warwick Road from Middletown should follow Middletown/Warwick Road (US 301) to Levels Road and turn right, follow Levels Road onto the new Warwick Road and stay straight, follow the new Warwick Road to Middle Neck Road and turn right, follow Middle Neck Road to Old Telegraph Road and turn left, follow Old Telegraph Road to Wilson Street and stay straight, follow Wilson Street back to Warwick Road.

Port Penn Road at US 13 is restricted to a right turn into and right turn out of Port Penn Road. Traffic accessing southbound US 13 from Port Penn Road will follow Port Penn Road to Pole Bridge Road and back to US 13. Traffic accessing Port Penn Road from southbound US 13 will follow US 13 to Pole Bridge Road and back to Port Penn Road. Traffic accessing the Biddles Toll Plaza from northbound US 13 will follow US 13 to the traffic signal at the free ramp to northbound State Route 1 and make a U-Turn back to the Biddles Toll Plaza. This closure will remain in effect until June 2018 after the intersection is reconstructed and the new traffic signal becomes operational.

Hyetts Corner Road is closed to traffic between the St. Georges High School and Windsor Commons Way until December 2018. Motorists traveling westbound on Hyetts Corner Road should follow Jamison Corner Road through the roundabout and continue to Boyds Corner Road (SR 896) and turn left, follow Boyds Corner Road (SR 896) to US 13 and turn left, and back to Hyetts Corner Road.  Motorists traveling eastbound on Hyett’s Corner Road should turn right at US 13, follow US 13 to Boyds Corner Road (SR 896) and turn right, follow Boyds Corner Road to Jamison Corner Road and turn right, follow Jamison Corner road through the roundabout and back to Hyetts Corner Road.

Strawberry Lane is closed to traffic at US 301. Motorists wanting to access the east side of Strawberry Lane from US 301 will follow Levels Road (SR 15) to Strawberry Lane. Motorists wanting to access the west side of Strawberry Lane from US 301 will follow Warwick Road (SR 299) to Wilson Street/Strawberry Lane.

Monday, June 12 through Thursday, June 15: Nightshift 

Continue bridge construction for US 301 over Boyds Corner Road (SR 896). Motorists should anticipate a single lane closure with traffic alternating through the work zone utilizing a flagging operation by construction personnel from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m.

Port Penn Road at US 13 is restricted to a right turn into and right turn out of Port Penn Road. Traffic accessing southbound US 13 from Port Penn Road will follow Port Penn Road to Pole Bridge Road and back to US 13. Traffic accessing Port Penn Road from southbound US 13 will follow US 13 to Pole Bridge Road and back to Port Penn Road. Traffic accessing the Biddles Toll Plaza from northbound US 13 will follow US 13 to the traffic signal at the free ramp to northbound SR 1 and make a U-Turn back to the Biddles Toll Plaza. This closure will remain in effect until June 2018 after the intersection is reconstructed and the new traffic signal becomes operational.

Middle Neck Roads is closed at US 301. Motorists wishing to access Middle Neck Road from US 301 should follow the posted detour of Bunker Hill Road to Old Telegraph Road and back to Middle Neck Road.

Strawberry Lane is closed to traffic at US 301. Motorists wanting to access the east side of Strawberry Lane from US 301 will follow Levels Road (SR 15) to Strawberry Lane. Motorists wanting to access the west side of Strawberry Lane from US 301 will follow Warwick Road (SR 299) to Wilson Street/Strawberry Lane.


Tuesday, June 6, 2017 through Thursday, June 8, 2017- Nightshift

Continue bridge construction for US 301 over Boyds Corner Road (SR 896). Motorists should anticipate a single lane closure with traffic alternating through the work zone utilizing a flagging operation by construction personnel from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

Move equipment from median to right shoulder of SR 1. Motorists can expect lane closures along northbound or southbound SR 1 between the Roth Bridge and the Toll Plaza to move equipment from the right shoulder to the median from 12:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m.

Motorists should anticipate northbound or southbound lane closures on Summit Bridge Road, south of the Armstrong Corner Road/Marl Pit Road intersection, with traffic alternating through the work zone and intersection utilizing a flagging operation by law enforcement and construction personnel from 09:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Please adjust your travel schedule accordingly as this lane closure may have an impact on travel times to and from your intended destination.

Wednesday, May 31 through Friday, June 2

Continue roadway reconstruction along existing US 301 at Levels Road. Motorists should anticipate northbound and southbound single lane closures on existing US 301 at Levels Road from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.

SR141/I-95 Ramp Interchange Project

SR141/I-95 Ramp Interchange Project
May 19, 2017

The contractor, Mumford and Miller Inc., will be installing sheet piles to widen the I-95 acceleration lane from SR141. They will continue to form and pour a new deck for SR141 southbound and northbound. They will continue placing fill and pouring concrete curbs for the widening of SR141 southbound and northbound to I-95. They are working on installing utility infrastructure and constructing overhead sign structures through the SR 141 and I-95 northbound corridor. The contractor is reconstructing the entrance to the ramp for Exit 2, southbound SR141 to northbound I-295.

Motorists should expect traffic on SR141 southbound and northbound to be reduced to one lane in the construction area during the hours of 9AM to 3PM, Monday thru Friday.

Ramp Exit 5B (NB I-295 to NB SR141/Newport) remains closed until late October 2017. Northbound SR141/Newport should use Exit 5.

Ramp Exit 2 (SB SR141 to NB I-295) will be closed until Sunday, June 4th. Motorists traveling on SR141 southbound will follow detour signs to US 13 north to I-295 to I-95 northbound.
