Below is an outline of the anticipated construction schedule and associated lane closures for work on the US 301 Mainline Project during the week of May 22.

Monday, May 22 through Thursday, May 25

Continue repainting of temporary concrete barrier wall along US Route 13 south of the on ramp to State Route 1. Motorists should anticipate single left lane or right lane closures on northbound and southbound US 13 between Port Penn Road and the on ramp for State Route 1 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Continue excavating in the median along northbound and southbound US 13 between Old Hyetts Corner Road and Port Penn Road. Motorists should anticipate northbound and southbound single lane closures along US 13 between Old Hyetts Corner Road and Port Penn Road from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Continue roadway reconstruction along existing US 301 at Levels Road. Motorists should anticipate northbound and southbound single lane closures on existing US 301 at Levels Road from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Continue bridge construction activities on Boyd’s Corner Road (SR 896). Motorists should anticipate an eastbound or westbound lane closure on Boyds Corner Road (SR 896) west of Cedar Lane with traffic alternating through the work zone utilizing a flagging operation by construction personnel from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Monday, May 22 through Friday, May 26

Continue dirt hauling and bridge construction activities across Summit Bridge Road. Motorists should anticipate a flagging operation by construction personnel on Summit Bridge Road near North of Marl Pit/Armstrong Corner road from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Continue dirt hauling and bridge construction activities across Bunker Hill Road. Motorists should anticipate a flagging operation by construction personnel on Bunker Hill Road near Appoquinimink High School from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Port Penn Road at US Route 13 is restricted to a right turn into and right turn out of Port Penn Road. Traffic accessing southbound US13 from Port Penn Road will follow Port Penn Road to Pole Bridge Road and back to US Route 13. Traffic accessing Port Penn Road from southbound US Route 13 will follow US Route 13 to Pole Bridge Road and back to Port Penn Road. Traffic accessing the Biddles Toll Plaza from northbound US Route 13 will follow US Route 13 to the traffic signal at the free ramp to northbound State Route 1 and make a U-Turn back to the Biddles Toll Plaza. This closure will remain in effect until June 2018 after the intersection is reconstructed and the new traffic signal becomes operational.

Hyetts Corner Road is closed to traffic between the St. Georges High School and Windsor Commons Way until December 2018. Motorists traveling westbound on Hyetts Corner Road should follow Jamison Corner Road through the roundabout and continue to Boyds Corner Road (SR 896) and turn left, follow Boyds Corner Road (SR 896) to US 13 and turn left, and back to Hyetts Corner Road.  Motorists traveling eastbound on Hyett’s Corner Road should turn right at US 13, follow US 13 to Boyds Corner Road (SR 896) and turn right, follow Boyds Corner Road to Jamison Corner Road and turn right, follow Jamison Corner road through the roundabout and back to Hyetts Corner Road.

Middle Neck Road is closed at US 301. Motorists wishing to access Middle Neck Road from US 301 should follow the posted detour of Bunker Hill Road to Old Telegraph Road and back to Middle Neck Road.

Strawberry Lane is closed to traffic at US 301. Motorists wanting to access the east side of Strawberry Lane from US 301 will follow Levels Road (SR 15) to Strawberry Lane. Motorists wanting to access the west side of Strawberry Lane from US 301 will follow Warwick Road (SR 299) to Wilson Street/Strawberry Lane.

Monday, May 22 through Wednesday, May 24- Nightshift 

Continue bridge construction for US 301 over Boyds Corner Road (SR 896). Motorists should anticipate a single lane closure with traffic alternating through the work zone utilizing a flagging operation by construction personnel from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m.

Move equipment from median to right shoulder of SR 1. Motorists can expect lane closures along northbound SR 1 between the Roth Bridge and the Toll Plaza to move equipment from the right shoulder to the median from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
