Continue repainting of temporary concrete barrier wall along US 13 south of the on ramp to SR 1. Motorists should anticipate single left lane or right lane closures on northbound and southbound US 13 between Port Penn Road and the on ramp for SR 1 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Monday, May 1, 2017 through Friday, May 5, 2017

Continue median reconstruction along existing US 301 at Levels Road. Motorists should anticipate northbound and southbound left lane closures on existing US 301 at Levels Road from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Continue installing light pole bases along the northbound and southbound shoulder of US 13 between Old Hyetts Corner Road and Port Penn Road. Motorists should anticipate a northbound and southbound right shoulder closure along US 13 between Old Hyetts Corner Road and Port Penn Road from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Continue dirt hauling and bridge construction activities across Summit Bridge Road. Motorists should anticipate a flagging operation by construction personnel on Summit Bridge Road near North of Marl Pit/Armstrong Corner road from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Continue bridge construction activities on Boyd’s Corner Road (SR 896). Motorists should anticipate an eastbound or westbound lane closure on Boyds Corner Road (SR 896) west of Cedar Lane with traffic alternating through the work zone utilizing a flagging operation by construction personnel from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Continue dirt hauling and bridge construction activities across Bunker Hill Road. Motorists should anticipate a flagging operation by construction personnel on Bunker Hill Road near Appoquinimink High School from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Port Penn Road at US 13 is restricted to a right turn into and right turn out of Port Penn Road. Traffic accessing southbound US13 from Port Penn Road will follow Port Penn Road to Pole Bridge Road and back to US 13. Traffic accessing Port Penn Road from southbound US 13 will follow US 13 to Pole Bridge Road and back to Port Penn Road. Traffic accessing the Biddles Toll Plaza from northbound US 13 will follow US 13 to the traffic signal at the free ramp to northbound SR 1 and make a U-Turn back to the Biddles Toll Plaza. This closure will remain in effect until June 2018 after the intersection is reconstructed and the new traffic signal becomes operational.

Hyetts Corner Road is closed to traffic between the St. Georges High School and Windsor Commons Way until December 2018. Motorists traveling westbound on Hyetts Corner Road should follow Jamison Corner Road through the roundabout and continue to Boyds Corner Road (SR 896) and turn left, follow Boyds Corner Road (SR 896) to US 13 and turn left, and back to Hyetts Corner Road. Motorists traveling eastbound on Hyett’s Corner Road should turn right at US 13, follow US 13 to Boyds Corner Road (SR 896) and turn right, follow Boyds Corner Road to Jamison Corner Road and turn right, follow Jamison Corner road through the roundabout and back to Hyetts Corner Road.

Middle Neck Roads is closed at US 301. Motorists wishing to access Middle Neck Road from US 301 should follow the posted detour of Bunker Hill Road to Old Telegraph Road and back to Middle Neck Road.

Strawberry Lane is closed to traffic at US 301. Motorists wanting to access the east side of Strawberry Lane from US 301 will follow Levels Road (SR 15) to Strawberry Lane. Motorists wanting to access the west side of Strawberry Lane from US 301 will follow Warwick Road (SR 299) to Wilson Street/Strawberry Lane.

Monday, May 2, 2017 – Nightshift

Move equipment from median to right shoulder of SR 1. Motorists can expect double lane closures along northbound SR 1 between the Roth Bridge and the Toll Plaza to move equipment from the right shoulder to the median from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

Tuesday, May 2, 2017 through Thursday, May 4, 2017- Nightshift

Place bridge girders for new bridge over Boyds Corner Road (SR 896). Motorists should anticipate that Boyds Corner Road (SR 896) will be closed to traffic between Cedar Lane and Ratledge Road from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Motorists should follow the posted detour of:

Northbound SR 896 traffic will be detoured via U.S. 13 south onto Marl Pit Road and north onto U.S. 301/SR 71 and return to SR 896.

Southbound SR 896 traffic will be detoured via U.S. 301/SR 71 south onto Marl Pit Road and north on U.S. 13 and back to SR 896.

SR141/I-95 Ramp Interchange Project

SR141/I-95 Ramp Interchange Project
April 14, 2017

The contractor, Mumford and Miller Inc., will be installing sheet piles to widen the I-95 acceleration lane from SR141. They will continue to form and pour a new deck for SR141 southbound and northbound and installing storm drains on SR141 northbound. They will continue placing fill for the widening of SR141 southbound and northbound to I-95. They are working on installing utility infrastructure through the SR 141 and I-95 northbound corridor. They are constructing Overhead Sign Structures Foundations throughout the project.

LANE CLOSURES:

Motorists should expect traffic on SR141 southbound and northbound to be reduced to one lane in the construction area during the hours of 9AM to 3PM, Monday thru Thursday.

Ramp Exit 5B (NB I-295 to NB SR141/Newport) remains closed until late October 2017. Northbound SR141/Newport should use Exit 5.

SR 141/I-95 Ramp Interchange Project Will Require Nighttime Lane and Ramp Closures

Newport: The Delaware Department of Transportation’s (DelDOT) contractor, Mumford and Miller Inc., beginning at 8 p.m. on Monday, April 17 until 5 a.m. on Tuesday April 18, will be closing/shifting the I-295 northbound to I-95 northbound between Exit 5 and past SR 141 northbound interchange and also close the Ramp/SR 141 southbound to I-295 northbound. This is weather permitting.

Beginning at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18 until 5 a.m. on Wednesday, April 19; plus 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19 until 5 a.m. on Thursday, April 20, I-95 northbound will be closing and shifting lanes to I-295 northbound and close the Ramps/SR 141 northbound and southbound to I-95 northbound. The nighttime lane and ramp closures are necessary for bridge deck construction. This is weather permitting.

Monday, April 17 (Nighttime Only)
Ramp/SR 141 southbound to I-295 northbound closed. Motorists traveling on SR 141 southbound will follow detour signs to U.S. Route 13 north to I-295 to get to I-95 northbound.

I-295 northbound motorists will use the right lane signed for I-95 northbound and stay on the right lane of I-95 and then use the temporary crossover just past the work zone to go back onto I-295.

In the event of inclement weather, the work will proceed at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18 until Wednesday, April 19.

Tuesday, April 18 and Wednesday, April 19 (Nighttime Only)
Ramp/SR 141 southbound to I-95 northbound closed. Motorists traveling on SR 141 southbound will follow detour signs to U.S. Route 13 north to I-295 to I-95 northbound.

Ramp/SR 141 northbound to I-95 northbound closed. Motorists traveling east on Commons Boulevard will follow detour signs, taking SR 141 southbound to U.S. Route 13 north to I-295 to get to I-95 northbound. Motorists traveling northeast on Airport Road will follow detour signs, taking SR 141 southbound to U.S. Route 13 to I-295 to get to I-95 northbound.

Motorists traveling on SR 141 northbound will follow detour signs to SR 141 southbound to U.S. Route 13 north to I-295 to get to I-95 northbound.

I-95 northbound motorists will use the right lanes signed for I-295 northbound, stay on the left lane of I-295, and then use the temporary crossover just past the work zone to go back onto I-95 northbound.

In the event of inclement weather, the work will proceed at 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 20 until 5 a.m. on Friday, April 21.
