Anticipated work schedule for Route 26

Below is the anticipated work schedule and associated lane closures for work on the Route 26 Mainline Construction Project for next week.

In addition to our normal lane closure schedule, Route 26 is closed to through traffic at Windmill Drive and at Central Avenue for the construction and installation of two precast concrete box culverts that span the entire roadway.

Businesses remain open during these construction activities and are accessible by motor vehicle.

Culvert 3-427 is located in Millville just east of Clubhouse Road between Clubhouse Road and Dukes Drive.

Culvert 3-428 is located just east of Old School Lane and the Lord Baltimore Elementary School.

Through traffic on Route 26 should use the following detour:

Traveling Eastbound – Route 26 to Windmill Drive turn right, to Central Avenue turn left, and back to Route 26.

Traveling Westbound – Route 26 to Central Avenue turn left, to Windmill Drive turn right, and back to Route 26.

Access to all businesses and residences located on both sides of the two culverts will be maintained throughout the duration of the closure. Motorists traveling to areas between the road closures should use the following detour:

Traveling Eastbound – Route 26 to Windmill Drive turn right, to Central Avenue turn left, to Cedar Drive turn left and back to Route 26.

Traveling Westbound – Route 26 to Central Avenue turn left, to Cedar Drive turn right, and back to Route 26.

Access to businesses and residents located between the diversion barricade at Central Avenue and the culvert east of Old School Lane should proceed west to the left of the diversion barricade through the receiving lane provided on Route 26 at Central Avenue.

Access to businesses and residents located between the diversion barricade at Old Mill Road and the culvert east of Clubhouse Road should proceed west to the left of the diversion barricade through the receiving lane provided on Route 26 at Old Mill Road.

Access to businesses and residents located between the diversion barricade at Cedar Drive and the culvert east of Old School Lane should proceed east to the left of the diversion barricade through the receiving lane provided on Route 26 at Cedar Drive.

This closure will be in place 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through March 31, 2015.
