Anticipated Work Schedule for Route 26, starting Jan. 12th

Below is an outline of the anticipated construction schedule and associated lane closures for work on the Route 26 Widening Project during the next week.

Monday, January 12, 2015 through Saturday, January 17, 2015

Continue the reconstruction of a bridge in Millville and a bridge in Ocean View.

Motorists are reminded that the detour is in place for this construction activity.

One culvert is located in Millville just east of Clubhouse Road between Clubhouse Road and Dukes Drive.

The other culvert is located just east of Old School Lane and the Lord Baltimore Elementary School.

Through traffic on Route 26 should use the following detour:

Traveling Eastbound – Route 26 to Windmill Drive turn right, to Central Avenue turn left, and back to Route 26.

Traveling Westbound – Route 26 to Central Avenue turn left, to Windmill Drive turn right, and back to Route 26.

Access to all businesses and residences located between the two culverts will be maintained throughout the duration of the closure. Motorists traveling to areas between the road closures

should use the following detour:

Traveling Eastbound – Route 26 to Windmill Drive turn right, to Central Avenue turn left, to Cedar Drive turn left and back to Route 26.

Traveling Westbound – Route 26 to Central Avenue turn left, to Cedar Drive turn right, and back to Route 26.

Continue the installation of new drainage pipe and associated drainage inlets along Route 26.

Motorists should anticipate eastbound or westbound lane closures on Route 26 between Railway Road and Whites Neck with traffic alternating through the work zone utilizing a flagging operation by construction personnel from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Continue the installation of the new sanitary sewer line, east and west of Route 17 (Roxana Road).

No lane closures are anticipated for this work. Motorists should anticipate periodic short term traffic stoppages as flaggers assist construction vehicles to safely enter and exit the work area from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
