Below is an outline of the anticipated construction schedule and associated lane closures for the week of October 2 on the US 301 Mainline Project.

Monday, October 2 through Thursday, October 5

Continue bridge construction activities on existing US 301. Motorists should anticipate a northbound or southbound lane closure on US 301 at Strawberry Lane with traffic alternating through the work zone utilizing a flagging operation by construction personnel from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Continue bridge construction activities on Boyd’s Corner Road (SR 896). Motorists anticipate an eastbound or westbound lane closure on Boyds Corner Road (SR 896) west of Cedar Lane with traffic alternating through the work zone utilizing a flagging operation by construction personnel from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Continue bridge construction activities along SR 1. Motorists should anticipate a single left or right lane closure along SR 1 northbound/southbound between the Biddles Toll Plaza and the Roth Bridge from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Continue roadway widening activities along US 13 southbound. Motorists should anticipate a single right lane closure along US 13 southbound between the Free Ramp to SR 1 and Port Penn Road from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Tuesday, October 3 through Thursday, October 5: Nightshift

Continue bridge construction activities along SR 1. Motorists should anticipate a double left lane closure along SR 1 northbound/southbound between the Biddles Toll Plaza and the Roth Bridge from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m.

Detours and Roadway Closures

Port Penn Road at US 13 is restricted to a right turn into and right turn out of Port Penn Road. Traffic accessing southbound US13 from Port Penn Road will follow Port Penn Road to Pole Bridge Road and back to US 13. Traffic accessing Port Penn Road from southbound US 13 will follow US 13 to Pole Bridge Road and back to Port Penn Road. Traffic accessing the Biddles Toll Plaza from northbound US 13 will follow US 13 to the traffic signal at the free ramp to northbound State Route 1 and make a U-Turn back to the Biddles Toll Plaza. This closure will remain in effect until June 2018 after the intersection is reconstructed and the new traffic signal becomes operational.

Hyetts Corner Road is closed to traffic between the St. Georges High School and Windsor Commons Way until December 2018. Motorists traveling westbound on Hyetts Corner Road should follow Jamison Corner Road through the roundabout and continue to Boyds Corner Road (SR 896) and turn left, follow Boyds Corner Road (SR 896) to US 13 and turn left, and back to Hyetts Corner Road. Motorists traveling eastbound on Hyett’s Corner Road should turn right at US 13, follow US 13 to Boyds Corner Road (SR 896) and turn right, follow Boyds Corner Road to Jamison Corner Road and turn right, follow Jamison Corner road through the roundabout and back to Hyetts Corner Road.

Strawberry Lane is closed to traffic at US 301. Motorists wanting to access the east side of Strawberry Lane from US 301 will follow Levels Road (SR 15) to Strawberry Lane. Motorists wanting to access the west side of Strawberry Lane from US Route 301 will turn left onto the new Levels Road/Warwick Road (SR 299) and follow Warwick Road (SR 299) to Strawberry Lane.

Monday September 25, 2017 through Thursday, September 28, 2017 – Nightshift

Continue bridge construction activities along SR 1. Motorists should anticipate a single left lane closure along northbound and southbound SR 1 between the Biddles Toll Plaza and the Roth Bridge from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

Detours and Roadway Closures

SR 1 northbound will be closed between Pole Bridge Road and Roth Bridge at 7 p.m. on Friday, September 22 until 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 23. Motorists should anticipate a single lane closure along SR 1 northbound before Pole Bridge Road with the full closure of SR 1 northbound at 7 p.m. on Friday, September 22. Motorists should follow the posted detour to Exit 142/Pole Bridge Road onto US 13 north and return to SR 1 via the free ramp. Due to the inconvenience caused by this closure, the toll will be waived at the Exit from SR 1 northbound to Pole Bridge Road.

Port Penn Road at US 13 is restricted to a right turn into and right turn out of Port Penn Road. Traffic accessing southbound US13 from Port Penn Road will follow Port Penn Road to Pole Bridge Road and back to US 13. Traffic accessing Port Penn Road from southbound US 13 will follow US 13 to Pole Bridge Road and back to Port Penn Road. Traffic accessing the Biddles Toll Plaza from northbound US 13 will follow US 13 to the traffic signal at the free ramp to northbound SR 1 and make a U-Turn back to the Biddles Toll Plaza. This closure will remain in effect until June 2018 after the intersection is reconstructed and the new traffic signal becomes operational.

Monday, September 11, 2017 through Thursday, September 14, 2017

Monday September 11, 2017 through Thursday, September 14, 2017 – Nightshift

Northbound US 13 between Hyetts Corner Road and Port Penn Road will be closed on Friday, September 8, at 7 p.m. through Monday, September 11, at 6 a.m. This closure will detour traffic to Pole Bridge Road, to Port Penn Road and back to US 13. Truck traffic will be urged to use SR 1 as the alternate route for through traffic to points north.

Southbound SR 1 will be closed on Wednesday, September 13, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. between the Roth Bridge and Pole Bridge Road. Motorists are advised to follow the posted detour of Lorewood Grove Road (Exit 148) to US 13 south to Pole Bridge Road and back to SR 1.

Port Penn Road at US 13 is restricted to a right turn into and right turn out of Port Penn Road. Traffic accessing southbound US 13 from Port Penn Road will follow Port Penn Road to Pole Bridge Road and back to US 13. Traffic accessing Port Penn Road from southbound US 13 will follow US 13 to Pole Bridge Road and back to Port Penn Road. Traffic accessing the Biddles Toll Plaza from northbound US 13 will follow US 13 to the traffic signal at the free ramp to northbound SR 1 and make a U-Turn back to the Biddles Toll Plaza. Continue dirt hauling and bridge construction activities across Summit Bridge Road. Motorists should anticipate a flagging operation by construction personnel on Summit Bridge Road near North of Marl Pit/Armstrong Corner road from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Continue dirt hauling and bridge construction activities across Armstrong Corner Road. Motorists should anticipate a flagging operation by construction personnel on Armstrong Corner Road between Choptank Road and Summit Bridge Road from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Tuesday September 5 through Thursday, September 7: Nightshift

Continue bridge construction activities along Summit Bridge Road. Motorists should anticipate a single lane closure on Summit Bridge Road between Marl Pit Road and Old School House Road with traffic alternating through the work zone utilizing a flagging operation by construction personnel from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m.

Continue bridge construction activities along SR 1. Motorists should anticipate a single left lane closure along NB SR 1 between the Biddles Toll Plaza and the Roth Bridge from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m.

Continue bridge construction for US 301 over Boyds Corner Road (SR 896). Motorists may encounter a single lane closure with traffic alternating through the work zone utilizing a flagging operation by construction personnel from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m.
