Below is an outline of the anticipated construction schedule and associated lane closures for work on the U.S. Route 301 Mainline Project during the next week.

Continue bridge construction activities along State Route 1. Motorists should anticipate single lane closures along northbound or southbound State Route 1 between the Roth Bridge and Toll Plaza from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Tuesday, February 28, 2017 motorists should anticipate a single lane closure along southbound State Route 1 with periodic traffic drags to move equipment from 10:0 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

Continue dirt hauling and bridge construction activities on Boyd’s Corner Road. Motorists should anticipate a flagging operation by construction personnel on Boyds Corner Road west of Jamison Corner Road from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Continue dirt hauling and other construction activities on Hyetts Corner Road. Motorists should anticipate lane closures on Hyetts Corner Road between Airmont Drive and Windsor Commons Way with traffic alternating through the work zone utilizing a flagging operation by construction personnel from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Continue dirt hauling and other construction activities across Armstrong Corner Road. Motorists should anticipate a flagging operation by construction personnel on Armstrong Corner Road west of Summit Bridge Road from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Continue dirt hauling and bridge construction activities across Bunker Hill Road. Motorists should anticipate a flagging operation by construction personnel on Bunker Hill Road near Appoquinimink High School from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Hyetts Corner Road will be closed to traffic on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 between the St. Georges High School and Windsor Commons Way until December 2018. Motorists traveling westbound on Hyetts Corner Road should follow Jamison Corner Road through the roundabout and continue to Boyds Corner Road (State Route 896) and turn left, follow Boyds Corner Road (State Route 896) to U.S. Route 13 and turn left, and back to Hyetts Corner Road. Motorists traveling eastbound on Hyett’s Corner Road should turn right at U.S. Route 13, follow U.S. Route 13 to Boyds Corner Road (State Route 896) and turn right, follow Boyds Corner Road to Jamison Corner Road and turn right, follow Jamison Corner road through the roundabout and back to Hyetts Corner Road.
Middle Neck Roads is closed at U.S. Route 301. Motorists wishing to access Middle Neck Road from U.S. Route 301 should follow the posted detour of Bunker Hill Road to Old Telegraph Road and back to Middle Neck Road.

Strawberry Lane is closed to traffic at U.S. Route 301. Motorists wanting to access the east side of Strawberry Lane from U.S. Route 301 will follow Levels Road (SR 15) to Strawberry Lane. Motorists wanting to access the west side of Strawberry Lane from U.S. Route 301 will follow Warwick Road (SR 299) to Wilson Street/Strawberry Lane.

SR141/I-95 Ramp Interchange Project

SR141/I-95 Ramp Interchange Project
February 17, 2017

The contractor, Mumford and Miller Inc., will be installing sheeting piles to widen the I-95 acceleration lane from SR141. They will continue to form and pour a new deck for SR141 southbound and installing storm drains on SR141 northbound. They will continue constructing the concrete structures for the new bridges and placing fill for the widening of SR141 southbound and northbound to I-95.

LANE CLOSURES:

Motorists should expect traffic on SR141 southbound and northbound to be reduced to one lane in the construction area during the hours of 9AM to 3PM, Monday thru Friday.

Ramp Exit 5B (NB I-295 to NB SR141/Newport) remains closed until late June 2017. Northbound SR141/Newport should use Exit 5.

SR141/I-95 Ramp Interchange Project

LANE CLOSURES:

Motorists should expect traffic on SR141 southbound and northbound to be reduced to one lane in the construction area during the hours of 9AM to 3PM, Monday thru Friday.

There will be multiple lane closures on I-95/295 northbound on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday night starting at 8PM until 5AM the following morning. See Traffic Alert below.

Ramp Exit 5B (NB I-295 to NB SR141/Newport) remains closed until late June 2017. Northbound SR141/Newport should use Exit 5.

SR 141/I-95 Ramp Interchange Project Will Require Nighttime Lane Closures/Shifts on I-95 NB and I-295 NB

Newport: The Delaware Department of Transportation’s (DelDOT) contractor, Mumford and Miller Inc., will be closing/shifting the left lanes on I-95 northbound between Exit 5 and Route 141 northbound interchange beginning at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 15 until 5 a.m. on Thursday, February 16.

At 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 16, I-295 northbound will be closing/shifting lanes until 5 a.m. on Friday, February 17. The nighttime lane/shift closures are necessary for bridge deck construction.

Nighttime Temporary Lane Shift
Wednesday, February 15
I-95 northbound motorists will use the right lanes signed for I-295 northbound and stay on the left lane of I-295 and then use the temporary crossover just past the work zone to go back onto I-95 northbound.

Thursday, February 16
I-295 northbound motorists will use the right lane signed for I-95 northbound and stay on the right lane of I-95 and then use the temporary crossover just past the work zone to go back onto I-295.

In the event of inclement weather, the work will proceed on Friday, February 17 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. on Saturday, February 18.
