Anticipated Closures and Work for Route 26

Below is an outline of the anticipated construction schedule and associated lane closures for work on the SR 26 Mainline Improvement Project during the next week.

Day Shift – Monday, August 10, 2015 through Friday, August 14, 2015

Continue grading for sidewalk between Woodland Avenue and Old School Lane. Motorists should anticipate eastbound and westbound lane shifts on Route 26 between Old School Lane and Woodland Avenue with both travel lanes getting through the work zone from 07:00AM to 5:00PM.

Continue placing concrete for new side walk and placement of topsoil around new sidewalk at Old Mill Road. Motorists should anticipate eastbound and westbound lane shifts on Route 26 at Old Mill Road with both travel lanes getting through the work zone from 7:00AM to 5:00PM.

Begin excavating and grading for new retaining walls west of Railway Road.

Motorists should anticipate eastbound and westbound lane shifts on Route 26 between Railway Road and Whites Neck Road with both travel lanes getting through the work zone from 07:00AM to 5:00PM.

Continue placing electrical conduit and associated junction wells for new ITS system at the Route 26 and Roxana Road intersection. No lane closures are anticipated for this construction activity.

Continue roadway widening activities between Irons Lane and Roxana Road. No lane closures are anticipated for this construction activity.

Night Shift – Monday August 10, 2015 through Friday, August 14, 2015

Continue the installation of drainage pipes and associated drainage inlets between West Avenue and Town Road in Ocean View. Motorists should anticipate eastbound or westbound lane closures on Route 26 between Town Road and West Avenue with traffic alternating through the work zone utilizing a flagging operation by construction personnel from 09:00PM to 8:00AM.

Continue the installation of drainage pipes and associated drainage inlets east and west of Roxana Road. Motorists should anticipate eastbound lane closures on Route 26 at Roxanna Road with traffic alternating through the work zone and intersection utilizing a flagging operation by law enforcement and construction personnel from 09:00PM to 8:00AM.

Tidewater Utilities Inc. – Monday, August 3, 2015 through Friday, August 7, 2015

Continue the installation of new 16 inch water main between Railway Road and Whites Neck Road. Motorists should anticipate westbound lane closures on Route 26 between Railway Road and Whites Neck Road with traffic alternating through the work zone utilizing a flagging operation by construction personnel from 09:00PM to 8:00AM.
