SUBJECT: SR 26 Mainline Improvement Project Scheduled Lane Closures

Below is an outline of the anticipated construction schedule and associated lane closures for work on the SR 26 Mainline Improvement Project during the next week.

Day Shift – Monday, July 27, 2015 through Friday, July 31, 2015

Continue the installation of drainage pipes and associated drainage inlets east of Roxana Road.

Motorists should anticipate an eastbound right turn lane closure on Route 26 east of Roxana Road from 07:00AM to 5:00PM.

Begin grading for curb and gutter between Old School Lane and the Coastal Point Business Complex. Motorists should anticipate eastbound and westbound lane shifts between Old School Lane and the Coastal Point business complex with both travel lanes getting through the work zone from 07:00AM to 5:00PM.

Begin grading for sidewalk between Woodland Avenue and Old School Lane. Motorists should anticipate eastbound and westbound lane shifts between Old School Lane and Woodland Avenue with both travel lanes getting through the work zone from 07:00AM to 5:00PM.

Begin placing electrical conduit and associated junction wells for new ITS system, east of Old School Lane. No lane closures are anticipated for this construction activity.

Begin placing concrete for new sidewalks between Club House Road and Old Mill Lane. No lane closures are anticipated for this construction activity.

Continue clean up and placement of topsoil around new sidewalk between Old Mill Road an Cedar Drive. Motorists should anticipate eastbound and westbound lane shifts between Old Mill Road and Cedar Drive with both travel lanes getting through the work zone from 7:00AM to 5:00PM

Night Shift – Monday July 27, 2015 through Friday, July 31, 2015

Continue the installation of drainage pipes and associated drainage inlets between Tyler Drive and West Avenue in Ocean View. Motorists should anticipate eastbound or westbound lane closures on Route 26 between Tyler Drive and West Avenue with traffic alternating through the work zone utilizing a flagging operation by construction personnel from 09:00PM to 8:00AM.

Tidewater Utilities Inc. – Monday, July 27, 2015 through Friday, July 31, 2015

Continue the installation of new 16 inch water main between Railway Road and Whites Neck Road. Motorists should anticipate westbound lane closures on Route 26 between Railway Road and Whites Neck Road with traffic alternating through the work zone utilizing a flagging operation by construction personnel from 09:00PM to 8:00AM.
