Below is an outline of the anticipated construction schedule and associated lane closures for
work on the Route 26 Mainline Improvement Project during the next week.
Day Shift – Monday June 22, 2015 through Friday June 29, 2015
Continue to relocate existing sewer laterals out of the roadway at Whites Neck Road. No lane
closures are needed for this work.
Continue the installation of electrical conduit and junction wells for the new ITS System between
Whites Neck Road and Roxana Road from 07:00AM to 5:00PM. No lane closures are needed
for this work.
Continue the installation of new drainage pipe and associated drainage inlets along Route 26 between West Road and Tyler Drive 7:00AM to 5:00PM. No lane closures are needed for this
work.
Begin placing concrete for new curb and gutter between Clubhouse Road and Old Mill Road from 7:00AM to 7:00PM. No lane closures are needed for this work.
Begin placing concrete for new curb and gutter between Grants avenue and Woodland Avenue from 7:00AM to 7:00PM. No lane closures are needed for this work.
Night Shift – Monday June 22, 2015 through Friday June 29, 2015
Complete grading prior to placing concrete for new curb and gutter along Route 26. Motorists should anticipate eastbound or westbound lane closures on Route 26 between Woodland Avenue and Old School Lane with traffic alternating through the work zone utilizing a flagging operation by construction personnel from 09:00PM to 8:00AM.
Continue grading prior to placing new curb and gutter along Route 26. Motorists should anticipate eastbound lane closures on Route 26 between Grants Avenue and Old School Lane
with traffic alternating through the work zone utilizing a flagging operation by construction personnel from 09:00PM to 8:00AM.

Motorists should anticipate eastbound or westbound lane closures on Route 26 east and west of Powell Farm Road with traffic alternating through the work zone utilizing a flagging operation by construction personnel and law enforcement from 09:00PM to 8:00AM.
Begin the relocation of fire hydrants between Tyler Drive and Town Road. Motorists should anticipate eastbound lane closures between Tyler Drive and Town Road with traffic alternating through the work zone utilizing a flagging operation by law enforcement and construction personnel from 09:00PM to 8:00AM.
Begin placing concrete for new curb and gutter between Clubhouse Road and Old Mill Road from 9:00PM to 8:00AM. Motorists should anticipate eastbound or westbound lane closures on Route 26 between Clubhouse Road and Old Mill Road with traffic alternating through the work zone utilizing a flagging operation by construction personnel from 09:00PM to 8:00AM.

Below, for your use, is the anticipated work schedule and associated lane closures for work on the SR 26 Mainline Improvement Project along with Alternate Route directions and maps for the SR 26 corridor for those of you who may not be familiar with the area.
As a reminder, no lane closure restrictions are allowed on SR 26 during the day time hours until October 1, 2015. Construction activities requiring a lane restriction will occur Monday night through Friday morning from 9:00PM to 8:00AM each night.
Lane shifts consisting of maintaining one travel lane in each direction are permitted on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of each week between the hours of 6:00AM and 6:00PM.
Travel times to and from your destination may be quicker if you use one of the SR 26 Alternate Routes that were constructed prior to the start of the SR 26 Mainline Construction Project. The recently reconstructed roadways include:
• Burbage Road, from SR 17 to Windmill Drive
• Windmill Drive to SR 26 to Central Avenue
• Central Avenue, from Windmill Drive to Beaver Dam Road
• Beaver Dam Road, from Central Avenue to Muddy Neck Road
