Below is an outline of the anticipated construction schedule and associated lane closures for work on the US 301 Mainline Project during the week of April 3.

Continue bridge construction activities along SR 1. Motorists should anticipate a single lane closures along northbound or southbound SR 1 between the Roth Bridge and Toll Plaza from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

 Monday, April 3 through Friday, April 7 

Continue preliminary construction activities for roadway widening along Summit Bridge Road. Motorists should anticipate northbound or southbound lane closures on Summit Bridge Road, north and south of the Armstrong Corner Road/Marl Pit Road intersection, with traffic alternating through the work zone utilizing a flagging operation by construction personnel from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Continue preliminary construction activities for roadway widening along Summit Bridge Road. Motorists should anticipate northbound and southbound lane shifts on Summit Bridge Road north and south Armstrong Corner/Marl Pit Road with traffic getting through the work zone utilizing a flagging operation by construction personnel from 7 a.m. until 9 a.m. AND 3 p.m. until 5 p.m.

Continue median reconstruction along existing US 301 at Levels Road. Motorists should anticipate northbound and southbound left lane closures on existing US 301 at Levels Road from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Continue temporary line striping, saw cutting, and placement of Temporary Concrete Traffic Barrier for Phase 2 work between Old Hyetts Corner Road and Port Penn Road. Motorists should anticipate single left lane or right lane closures on northbound and southbound US 13 between Old Hyetts Corner Road and Port Penn Road from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Continue installing light pole bases along the northbound shoulder of US 13 between Old Hyetts Corner Road and Port Penn Road. Motorists should anticipate a northbound right shoulder closure along US 13 between Old Hyetts Corner Road and Port Penn Road from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Continue dirt hauling and bridge construction activities on Boyd’s Corner Road (SR 896). Motorists should anticipate a flagging operation by construction personnel on Boyds Corner Road (SR 896) west of Jamison Corner Road from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Continue dirt hauling and bridge construction activities across Bunker Hill Road. Motorists should anticipate a flagging operation by construction personnel on Bunker Hill Road near Appoquinimink High School from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Begin temporary line striping and saw cutting for Phase 2 work between Old Hyetts Corner Road and Port Penn Road. Motorists should anticipate a single left lane or right lane on northbound US 13 between Old Hyetts Corner Road and Port Penn Road from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

The left turn lane from Port Penn Road to southbound US13 will be closed to traffic until      June of 2018. Traffic accessing southbound US13 will follow Port Penn Road to Pole Bridge Road and back to US 13.

Hyetts Corner Road is closed to traffic between the St. Georges High School and Windsor Commons Way until December 2018. Motorists traveling westbound on Hyetts Corner Road should follow Jamison Corner Road through the roundabout and continue to Boyds Corner Road (SR 896) and turn left, follow Boyds Corner Road (SR 896) to US 13 and turn left, and back to Hyetts Corner Road.  Motorists traveling eastbound on Hyett’s Corner Road should turn right at US 13, follow US 13 to Boyds Corner Road (SR 896) and turn right, follow Boyds Corner Road to Jamison Corner Road and turn right, follow Jamison Corner road through the roundabout and back to Hyetts Corner Road.

Middle Neck Road is closed at US 301. Motorists wishing to access Middle Neck Road from US 301 should follow the posted detour of Bunker Hill Road to Old Telegraph Road and back to Middle Neck Road.

Strawberry Lane is closed to traffic at US 301. Motorists wanting to access the east side of Strawberry Lane from US 301 will follow Levels Road (SR 15) to Strawberry Lane. Motorists wanting to access the west side of Strawberry Lane from US 301 will follow Warwick Road (SR 299) to Wilson Street/Strawberry Lane.

SR141/I95 Ramp Interchange Project

SR141/I-95 Ramp Interchange Project
March 17, 2017

The contractor, Mumford and Miller Inc., will be installing sheeting piles to widen the I-95 acceleration lane from SR141. They will continue to form and pour a new deck for SR141 southbound and installing storm drains on SR141 northbound. They will continue placing fill for the widening of SR141 southbound and northbound to I-95. They plan on setting bridge beams on the new SR 141 Northbound Bridge at night. There will be a temporary installation of guardrail on eastbound Airport Road at SR141 southbound.

LANE CLOSURES:

Motorists should expect traffic on SR141 southbound and northbound to be reduced to one lane in the construction area during the hours of 9AM to 3PM, Monday thru Friday.

Ramp Exit 5B (NB I-295 to NB SR141/Newport) remains closed until late June 2017. Northbound SR141/Newport should use Exit 5.

On Thursday and Friday, from 9AM to 3PM, there will be a lane shift on eastbound Airport Road.

I-95/SR 141 Ramp Interchange Project Will Require Nighttime Lane Closures/Shifts on I-95 NB and I-295 NB starting Monday evening, March 20th until Thursday morning March, 23rd. See full Traffic Alert below.

TRAFFIC ALERT:

REVISED DATES: SR 141/I-95 Project Will Require Nighttime Lane/Shifts on I-95 NB, I-295 NB, and Closure of Exits 2 & 3A

Newport (New Castle County) — Due to inclement weather, the nighttime closure dates have been changed to the week of March 20.

The Delaware Department of Transportation’s (DelDOT) contractor, Mumford and Miller Inc., will be closing the following ramps for bridge deck construction:

7 p.m. on Monday, March 20 until 5 a.m. on Tuesday, March 21
Exit 2/DE 141 Southbound to I-295 Northbound
Motorists traveling on DE 141 southbound will follow detour signs to U.S. Route 13 northbound to I-295.

I-95 right lane close (one lane close)

I-295 northbound motorists will use the right lane signed for I-95 northbound and stay on the right lane of I-95 and then use the temporary crossover just past the work zone to go back onto I-295.

7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21 until 5 a.m. on Wednesday, March 22; and
7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 22 until 5 a.m. on Thursday, March 23
Exit 3A/DE 141 Northbound Ramp to I-95 Northbound

Motorists traveling east on Commons Boulevard will follow detour signs and take DE 141 southbound to U.S. Route 13 northbound to I-295 to I-95 northbound.

Motorists traveling northeast on Airport Road will follow detour signs, taking DE 141 southbound to U.S. Route 13 to I-295 to I-95 northbound.

Motorists traveling on DE 141 northbound will follow detour signs to DE 141 southbound to U.S. Route 13 to I-295 to I-95 northbound.

I-95 northbound motorists will use the right lanes signed for I-295 northbound and stay on the left lane of I-295 and then use the temporary crossover just past the work zone to go back onto I-95 northbound.

7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21 until 5 a.m. on Wednesday, March 22; and
7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 22 until 5 a.m. on Thursday, March 23.
Exit 3A/Route 141 Southbound Ramp to I-95 Northbound

Detour Route: Motorists traveling on SR 141 southbound will follow detour signs to U.S. Route 13 north to I-295 to get to I-95.

Friday, March 17, 2017 through Monday, March 20, 2017

U.S. Route 13 will be closed to through between Hyetts Corner Road and Port Penn Road from 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 17, 2017 through Monday, March 20, 2017 at 5:00 a.m. This closure will detour traffic to Pole Bridge Road, to Port Penn Road and back to U.S. Route 13. Truck traffic will be urged to use State Route 1 as the alternate route for through traffic to points north and south.

Due to the inconvenience caused by this closure the weekend toll rates at Biddles Toll Plaza this weekend will not go in effect. Tolls will remain $1.00 for passenger vehicles and toll rates for three or more axle vehicles will also remain at the normal weekday rate. Vehicles will still be able to access State Route 1 northbound from U.S. Route 13.

SR 141/I-95 Ramp Interchange Project Will Require Nighttime Lane and Ramp Closures

Newport: The Delaware Department of Transportation’s (DelDOT) contractor, Mumford and Miller Inc., beginning at 8 p.m. on Monday, March 6 until 5 a.m. on Tuesday March 7; and at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7 until 5 a.m. on Wednesday March 8, will be closing/shifting the I-295 northbound to I-95 northbound (two lanes) between Exit 5 and past SR 141 northbound interchange and also close the Ramp/SR 141 southbound to I-295 northbound.

Beginning at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8 until 5 a.m. on Thursday, March 9; plus 8 p.m. on March 9 until 5 a.m. on Friday, March 10, I-95 northbound will be closing and shifting lanes to I-295 northbound and close the Ramps/SR 141 northbound and southbound to I-95 northbound. The nighttime lane and ramp closures are necessary for bridge girder placement.

I-95 northbound two right lanes will be closed.

Ramp/SR 141 southbound to I-295 northbound closed. Motorists traveling on SR 141 southbound will follow detour signs to U.S. Route 13 north to I-295 to get to I-95 northbound.

I-295 northbound motorists will use the right lane signed for I-95 northbound and stay on the right lane of I-95 and then use the temporary crossover just past the work zone to go back onto I-295.

Wednesday, March 8 and Thursday, March 9 (Nighttime Only)
Ramp/SR 141 southbound to I-295 northbound closed. Motorists traveling on SR 141 southbound will follow detour signs to U.S. Route 13 north to I-295 to I-95 northbound.

Ramp/SR 141 northbound to I-95 northbound closed. Motorists traveling east on Commons Boulevard will follow detour signs, taking SR 141 southbound to U.S. Route 13 north to I-295 to get to I-95 northbound. Motorists traveling northeast on Airport Road will follow detour signs, taking SR 141 southbound to U.S. Route 13 to I-295 to get to I-95 northbound.

Motorists traveling on SR 141 northbound will follow detour signs to SR 141 southbound to U.S. Route 13 north to I-295 to get to I-95 northbound.

I-95 northbound motorists will use the right lanes signed for I-295 northbound and stay on the left lane of I-295 and then use the temporary crossover just past the work zone to go back onto I-95 northbound.

In the event of inclement weather, the work will proceed at 9 p.m. on Friday, March 10 until 5 a.m. on Saturday, March 11.

Monday, March 6 through Thursday, March 9.

Continue bridge construction activities along SR 1. Motorists should anticipate single lane closures along northbound or southbound SR 1 between the Roth Bridge and Toll Plaza from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Monday, March 6 through Friday, March 10.

Continue dirt hauling and bridge construction activities on Boyd’s Corner Road. Motorists should anticipate a flagging operation by construction personnel on Boyds Corner Road, west of Jamison Corner Road from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Continue dirt hauling and other construction activities across Armstrong Corner Road. Motorists should anticipate a flagging operation by construction personnel on Armstrong Corner Road, west of Summit Bridge Road from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Continue dirt hauling and bridge construction activities across Bunker Hill Road. Motorists should anticipate a flagging operation by construction personnel on Bunker Hill Road near Appoquinimink High School from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Hyetts Corner Road is closed to traffic between the St. Georges High School and Windsor Commons Way until December 2018. Motorists traveling westbound on Hyetts Corner Road should follow Jamison Corner Road through the roundabout and continue to Boyds Corner Road (State Route 896) and turn left, follow Boyds Corner Road (State Route 896) to U.S. Route 13 and turn left, and back to Hyetts Corner Road. Motorists traveling eastbound on Hyett’s Corner Road should turn right at U.S. Route 13, follow U.S. Route 13 to Boyds Corner Road (State Route 896) and turn right, follow Boyds Corner Road to Jamison Corner Road and turn right, follow Jamison Corner road through the roundabout and back to Hyetts Corner Road.

Middle Neck Road is closed at U.S. Route 301. Motorists wishing to access Middle Neck Road from U.S. Route 301 should follow the posted detour of Bunker Hill Road to Old Telegraph Road and back to Middle Neck Road.

Strawberry Lane is closed to traffic at U.S. Route 301. Motorists wanting to access the east side of Strawberry Lane from U.S. Route 301 will follow Levels Road (SR 15) to Strawberry Lane. Motorists wanting to access the west side of Strawberry Lane from U.S. Route 301 will follow Warwick Road (SR 299) to Wilson Street/Strawberry Lane
