Below is an outline of the anticipated construction schedule and associated lane closures for work on the U.S. Route 301 Mainline Project during the next week.

Tuesday, November 29, 2016 through Saturday, December 3, 2016

Begin hauling activities Summit Bridge Road at night. Motorists should anticipate the following nightly closures of Summit Bridge Road:
• Monday night, November 28, from 8:00 p.m. through 5:00 a.m.
• Tuesday night, November 29, from 8:00 p.m. through 5:00 a.m.
• Wednesday night, November 30, from 8:00 p.m. through 5:00 a.m.
• Thursday night, December 1, from 8:00 p.m. through 5:00 a.m.
• Friday night, December 2, from 10:00 p.m. through 7:00 a.m.
• Saturday night, December 3, from 10:00 p.m. through 7:00 a.m.
These closures will detour traffic to Boyd’s Corner Road (Route 896), to U.S. Route 13, to Marl Pit Road and back to Summit Bridge Road.

Strawberry Lane will be closed to traffic at U.S. Route 301 on December 1, 2016 and remain closed until approximately December 2017. Motorists wanting to access the east side of Strawberry Lane from U.S. Route 301 will follow Levels Road (State Route 15) to Strawberry Lane. Motorists wanting to access the west side of Strawberry Lane from U.S. Route 301 will follow Warwick Road (SR 299) to Wilson Street/Strawberry Lane.

Continue installing temporary concrete barrier along southbound State Route 1. Motorists should anticipate single lane closures on southbound State Route 1 between the Roth Bridge and the Toll Plaza from 9 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Middle Neck Roads is closed at U.S. Route 301 and will remain closed until the end of December of 2016. Motorists wishing to access Middle Neck Road from U.S. Route 301 should follow the posted detour of Bunker Hill Road to Old Telegraph Road and back to Middle Neck Road.

Continue pile driving activities in the median of State Route 1, north of the toll plaza. No lane closures are anticipated for this activity.

Continue dirt hauling activities on Hyetts Corner Road. Motorists should anticipate lane closures on Hyetts Corner Road between Airmont Drive and Windsor Commons with traffic alternating through the work zone utilizing a flagging operation by construction personnel from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Continue dirt hauling activities on Boyds Corner Road. Motorists should anticipate a flagging operation by construction personnel on Boyds Corner Road west of Jamison Corner Road from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Continue dirt hauling activities across Armstrong Corner Road. Motorists should anticipate a flagging operation by construction personnel on Armstrong Corner Road west of Summit Bridge Road from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Continue dirt hauling activities across Bunker Hill Road. Motorists should anticipate a flagging operation by construction personnel on Bunker Hill Road near Appoquinimink High School from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Begin setting temporary concrete barrier on Summit Bridge Road, north of Armstrong Corner Road on Sunday, November 20, 2016. Motorists should anticipate a southbound lane closure on Summit Bridge Road, north of Armstrong Corner Road with traffic alternating through the work zone utilizing a flagging operation by Law Enforcement and construction personnel from 5:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

Motorists should anticipate northbound and southbound lane shifts on Summit Bridge Road, north of Armstrong Corner Road, with traffic with both lanes getting through the work zone daily.

Begin removing temporary concrete traffic barrier along northbound Route 13. Motorists should anticipate single lane closures on northbound Route 13 between Port Penn Road and Old Hyetts Corner Road from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Begin setting temporary concrete barrier along southbound SR 1 between the Roth Bridge and the Biddles Toll Plaza. Motorists should anticipate a right lane closure on southbound State Route 1 between the Roth Bridge and the Biddles Toll Plaza from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

Continue pile driving activities in the median of Route 1, north of the toll plaza. No lane closures are anticipated for this activity.

SR141/I-95 Ramp Interchange Project

SR141/I-95 Ramp Interchange Project
November 4, 2016

The contractor, Mumford & Miller Inc., continues constructing the concrete structures for the new bridges on SR141. This week, the contractor will place fill for the widening of ramps from SR141 southbound to I-95 northbound and constructing the side slopes of southbound SR141.

LANE CLOSURES:

Motorists should expect traffic on SR141 northbound and southbound to be reduced to one lane in the construction area during the hours of 9AM to 3PM, Monday and Wednesday of this week.

The paving of the ramp from southbound I-95 to northbound SR141 that was scheduled for this weekend has been pushed back until November 18th and 19th. Detours will be posted.

Ramp Exit 5B (NB I-295 to NB SR141/Newport) remains closed until late June 2017. Northbound SR141/Newport should use Exit 5.

Continue relocating ITMS conduit along northbound and southbound State Route 1. Motorists should anticipate single lane closures on northbound and southbound State Route 1 between the Roth Bridge and the Toll Plaza from 9 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
