Anticipated closures for road construction on Route 26

Below is an outline of the anticipated construction schedule and associated lane closures for work on the SR 26 Mainline Improvement Project during the next week.

Monday, October 19, 2015 through Saturday, October 24, 2015 Begin work on the reconstruction of Route 26 at Railway Road. Railway Road, north of SR 26
will be closed at Route 26 for approximately 1 week continuously. Motorists should anticipate westbound lane closures on Route 26 at Railway Road with traffic alternating through the work zone utilizing a flagging operation by construction personnel from 09:00AM to 9:00PM.

Continue work on sewer force main relocation at West Avenue and SR 26. West Avenue, south of SR 26 will remain closed at Route 26 for approximately two (2) weeks continuously.

Continue grading for new curb west of Roxana Road. Motorists should anticipate eastbound lane closures on Route 26 west of Roxana Road with traffic alternating through the work zone utilizing a flagging operation by construction personnel from 09:00AM to 5:00PM.

Continue placing electrical conduit and associated junction wells for new ITS system at Old Mill Road and Route 26. Motorists should anticipate right turn lane closures on Old Mill Road and on Route 26 at Town Center Road from 7:00AM to 5:00PM.

Begin excavation for side swale drainage ditches. Motorists should anticipate eastbound and westbound lane shifts on Route 26 between Bethany Crest and Whites Neck Road with both travel lanes getting through the work zone from 7:00AM to 5:00PM.

Begin construction of brick retaining wall on Route 26 east of Old School Lane. Motorists should anticipate eastbound and westbound lane shifts on Route 26 east Old School Lane with both travel lanes getting through the work zone from 7:00AM to 5:00PM.
